The HOLY FASHION GROUP contributes to a sustainable and climate-neutral economy by using renewable energies and conserving resources. At the headquarters and in our stores as well as in our production facilities, as well as within the transport chain, the impact on the environment should be as low as possible.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Since 2023, the HOLY FASHION GROUP has been operating a photovoltaic system at its headquarters in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland, with over 1,200 panels on the roofs, which produce around 520,000 kWh of electricity per year. This covers the electricity requirements of around 100 single-family homes. 82% of the energy generated is used directly by the headquarters itself. Surplus electricity is fed into the public network in sunny months, while in the colder months additional electricity is drawn from hydropower.

In addition to the photovoltaic project in Kreuzlingen, the solar system already installed at the company's own production site in Portugal in 2020 was also expanded further. Of the annual generation of 490k kwh, 71% is used by the company itself.

Portugal

Since January 2021, the HOLY FASHION GROUP has been sourcing electricity exclusively from renewable energy sources for all stores and showrooms in Germany with the EKOenergy label. EKOenergy is a non-profit initiative of the EKOenergy Network, a group of more than 40 environmental organisations from 30 countries. The energy comes 100% from renewable plants that meet extra sustainability criteria.

In addition, with every kWh of EKOenergy electricity purchased, HOLY FASHION GROUP supports climate funds for renewable energy projects and the EKOenergy Environmental Fund for environmental protection projects in Europe.

SHIPPING PACKAGING

In the area of B2B shipping packaging, the HOLY FASHION GROUP relies on sustainable materials.

In addition to sustainable FSC-certified waste paper, the cardboard boxes from GREENCOR consist of approx. 30% grass. Compared to wood, this is a fast-growing raw material from regional compensation areas, which can be provided by using significantly less energy and water. In addition to the sustainable cardboard boxes, only PVC-free plastic and thus recyclable material is used for the mailing bags and adhesive tapes.

For the delivery of online orders to customers, HOLY FASHION GROUP uses FSC-certified shipping boxes and invoice folders. To protect the goods, 80% recycled tissue paper and recycled air bags are used. The shipping process is 90% CO2 neutral via DHL Go Green.

HIGG INDEX

Since 2021, we have been measuring and evaluating our sustainability activities with worldly's Higg Index, a modular, web-based online tool for the footwear and apparel industry. A standardized questionnaire is used to identify sustainability risks and subsequently formulate measurable improvement targets. This also enables benchmarking with other companies.

The Higg Index was introduced in 2012 by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) and helps companies audit environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policies and practices.
